Creamy Tropical Matcha Smoothie (Plus, a Giveaway!)

June 7, 2014

IMG_8680 There is a giveaway being offered in this post so make sure you keep reading! I’m not going to lie.  I love caffeine especially good cup of coffee.  An americano misto with almond milk makes me swoon.  To be fair, I don’t drink a lot of it.  One cup every morning BUT I don’t always guarantee that I am sipping on an organic blend.  Generic coffee, if not organic, is highly processed and pesticide laden. Here’s the other situation I have found myself in.  I have been suffering with some hormonal imbalances – my cortisol levels have been elevated recently with the demands of my day job, preparing my business and everyday life.  Without getting into too many details in this fun post, coffee consumed in excess can promote increased cortisol levels. Cortisol is a hormone your body naturally produces to give us energy and to manage stress. However, cortisol in excess can promote disease.  So, you can understand why this is a concern for me. Enter matcha!  One of my favourite ingredients.  There are ample benefits to this powerful green tea powder: high in antioxidants, boosts memory and concentration, increases energy (in a good way) and it doesn’t give you the jitters that coffee does.  It makes the perfect coffee replacement! Last week, I posted these Coconut Matcha Protein Bites that I can’t keep in my house since my husband keeps eating them all.

Then, I decided a cocktail was in order so I concocted this Pineapple Matcha Sparkling Cocktail (which can be made without alcohol).  Intrigued?  Keep reading because I am giving something away just for you!
