This list of Eat Life Balance’s top favorite things is actually 90% local or Canadian-made. Enjoy!
In November, I will be guest posting on the North Coast Naturals blog. I’m very excited about the opportunity. What I like the most about NCN’s products is that they are a local Canadian company so I am always happy to support and promote great local products. They were kind enough to send me some products and here is my take on them:
Ultimate Daily Cleanse: I chose this product because at the time when it arrived, I was actually doing a formal cleanse. However, I’ve also realized that my morning fiber intake has been lacking and for the winter months, it is imparative that your fiber intake is in a optimal range. This product is high in fiber and loaded with pre and probiotics which is essential for digesitive and intestinal support. TIP: By the way, NCN is a generous company. This cleanse product comes in an enormous bag and as the product expires, I decided to freeze portions and it keeps very well!
Ultimate Daily Greens: you may know that I am a huge supporter of greens supplements and have been a die-hard fan of this product for years. However, I am open to other products to add into my diet. I have to say, if you are not into greens supplements (they can be hard to drink for some), then this is a terrific product! It is sweetened with stevia and berry flavors that deliver 48 concentrated super fruits, vegetables and sea greens. I might even dare to say that it may be kid-friendly as well but added to a shake perhaps.
Organic Hemp Protein – this product is 100% certified organic. That is a selling feature right there! I’ve been shopping around for a new protein blend and so I decided to opt in for this product. It is high in fiber and contains a portion of your daily requirements of essential fatty acids. It blends so well and doesn’t have that “chalky” consistency that you find in other products.
Thank you North Coast Naturals!
This Canadian company creates naturally hand-crafted soaps, lotions and cleansers – made in small batches. I picked up their rich shaving cream, body wash, salt scrub and a few bath bombs all made with essential oils and plant-based ingredients when I was home in September. They are sold in Ontario but they have a on-line shop to choose from their vast array of products. Love.
I do make my own sauerkraut but when I am out of my own, I reach for Bubbies Kraut. It is the best commercial kraut out there and I believe many health gurus would agree with me. Sauerkraut is rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber and probiotic enzymes that help support your digestion. Take a ½ cup of sauerkraut 30 minutes prior to lunch and dinner to help stimulate digestive juices.
(Often you will come across products that add either sulfites or vinegars to their recipe but to retain its nutritional value, always choose a product with cabbage, water and salt.)
How great was it strolling through Costco a few weeks back and finding GF flour that is local? So great. What I love the most about this product is that they include buckwheat flour. Buckwheat is not actually a “flour” that contains gluten and it is loaded with fiber that I oftentimes find omitted in a lot of GF flours who prefer to use solely white rice flour. Support local!
This Post on my recent health scare and the important of regular health check-ups. It is a must read!
