Beautifying Mojito Smoothie

February 10, 2017

This recipe is the perfect skin food! Avocados are an amazing fat that is so beneficial for health skin. Well, any good fat is great for you.

The other key to good skin is a healthy digestive system.  Given today’s food, with the increase of packaged and refined foods, the increase of sugar in EVERYTHING, and unstable and toxic fats, it’s no wonder our digestive systems are out of whack.

So, what do you do?

Well, you do want to take a good hard look at the foods that you are putting into your system. So, an eating lifestyle that supports a plant-based approach to eating. But, as well, healthy fats, proteins that come from healthy animals and fish (ie. organic, pasture-raised, etc) and complex, clean carbohydrates (I personally choose a grain-free diet that has greatly benefited my skin health so most of my carbs come from vegetables. IE. parsnips, brussel sprouts, cabbage).

Also start adding a probiotic into your day.  It’s an amazing supplement that adds healthy bacteria into your digestive system. Trust me, this will change everything!

This recipe is low in sugar but you can remove the banana entirely and add a few drops of stevia or extra protein powder if it is sugar-free.
