No dehydrator required. Yessss!!!!
But this is a recipe that you will need to stick around the house for as it can take about 1.5 – 2 hours to make. But, ohhhhhh, the rewards. These Easy Baked Cinnamon Apple Chips are crunchy, sweet and highly nutritious. I made two trays and I ate them both within two days. Hey, they’re guilt-free remember.
Local, ideally organic apples, washed and dried.
Cinnamon and nutmeg
~ Pre-heat your oven to 225-degrees.
~ With a sharp knife, slice the apples as thinly as possible (if you have a mandolin, save yourself and use it!). You can also core the apples as well.
~ On parchment-lined trays, place the slices on the tray ensuring that they do not overlap.
~ Sprinkle the apples with cinnamon and nutmeg to your liking.
~ Place in the oven and bake for 1 hour. You can check halfway through just to ensure nothing is burning as all ovens work differently.
~ After 1 hour, flip the apples and bake for another hour.
Once baked fully until crisp, let cool and store in containers. I doubt they’ll last long, though!
