I asked my husband, James, to guest post a recipe this week. Let me tell you about him.
He’s a self-proclaimed athlete – plays hockey three times a week, gym sessions the rest and he’s your typical “man’s man”. His food lifestyle would be described as meat and potatoes but since our eight year romance began, he’s eating salads daily, reduced his dairy intake (can’t get him off the cheese!) and you’ll find him in our kitchen making coconut milk (recipe to come) and concocting protein smoothies.
James’s description of his Chocolate Oatmeal Protein shake:
“Finally, a recipe for the men. This Chocolate Oatmeal Protein Shake is rich in protein and full of complex carbohydrates to fuel our bodies, post workout. I use the Amazing Grass Green Superfood – Chocolate Infusion. You get your raw superfood greens and you don’t even know! The raw cacao masks that “greeny raw” taste. I add a scoop of peanut butter for a chocolate/peanut butter version.”
- 2 scoops Amazing Grass Green Superfood / Cacao Infusion or any chocolate protein powder
- 2 T gluten free oats
- 1 banana
- 2 T of dairy free yogurt
- Dash of cinnamon
- 1.5 C of non-diary milk
- 2 T of coconut flakes (optional)
- 2 t of maple syrup (optional)
- 1 C of ice (optional, for frothiness)
- Blend & Serve
