If you’re a milk chocolate lover, then you’re going to love this recipe. Plus, it’s completely dairy free, vegan and super gut friendly snack.
I love chocolate like no other but I’m strictly into the dark kind. Milk chocolate just makes my skin break out immediately but it’s just sooooo good!
About a year ago I was struggling with blood sugar imbalances. You know, those times where you get so hungry that your hands start to shake? Or, maybe you’re hungry an hour after you’ve just eaten a main meal? You’ve heard the term “hangry” – would you agree that that term describes you when you suddenly get hungry?
Here’s one of the secrets to managing blood sugar…FAT.
Getting enough healthy fats in your diet, at every meal, will help to sustain you and to keep your blood sugars balanced. This was such an enormous shift for me that I haven’t had any issues since! (I also supplement with this on a daily basis which has helped me immensely.)
Ensuring that you have healthy quick snacks on hand are also key. I don’t always need to snack throughout the day, but it’s always good to have something before or after working out or if you just need a pick me up.
This recipe uses my absolute favourite protein power from Genuine Health. Their Fermented Vegan Proteins+ is so amazing for our digestive system. It also tastes amazing. Here are two of my favourite smoothie recipes:
1/2 of coconut butter
2 scoops of Genuine Health Fermented Proteins+ in Chocolate (alternatively, you can use two scoops of your favourite vanilla version and add 1 scoop of raw cacao or regular cocoa powder)
1 pinch of sea salt
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
1) Blend all ingredients in a food processor, pour into shallow baking dish and chill for 30 minutes.
2) Once set, cut into pieces and store in the fridge.
