Reduce Stress & Improve Sleep with this (+ A GIVEAWAY)

Natural Calm giveaway

I don’t think I have come across many people that haven’t had some difficulty with sleep.  Can’t fall asleep and left wide awake reflecting on life?  Fall asleep okay but wake up throughout the night and left wide awake reflecting on life? In any event, it sucks.

There are a multitude of reasons we may not be sleeping properly: stress, environment (i.e. snoring husband, poor lighting), technology and the list goes on and on.

What if I told you that one of the keys of improved sleep could be a simple supplement?

First, let me tell you a story.

Several years ago, I was faced with such a high level of stress and anxiety that I had to actually go to emergency room because my symptoms were so strong. I really thought I was having a medical emergency.

Fast forward to two years ago when a friend of mine was talking about her anxiety attacks as a result of the death of her father. It was then that I realized it was a major anxiety attack that I had experienced.  Phew!

What if I told you that one of the keys of reduced stress could be a simple supplement?

70% of American women and 80% of American men are deficient in the mineral MAGNESIUM. Many health practitioners believe that magnesium is one of the most overlooked mineral. Apparently it is since 70% of women are deficient.

What does magnesium do for us?

Magnesium plays an important role in over 300 enzymatic reactions within the body including the metabolism of food and synthesis of fatty acids and proteins. Magnesium is involved in neuromuscular transmission and activity and muscle relaxation. Magnesium deficiency is linked to insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, coronary heart disease and osteoporosis.

When I realized that I needed to take particular care of the stress that I was putting my body through, I made several dietary and lifestyle changes:

– I started to practice yoga and meditation, daily.

– I started to incorporate essential oils into my nightly bath routine.

– And, I began to supplement with Natural Calm Magnesium Supplement.

Known as the “anti-stress drink”, Natural Calm is a best-selling magnesium supplement that is a a proprietary formula providing a highly absorbable and water-soluble magnesium in ionic form (having molecular charge that allows the element to easily bond with water). It’s also GMO-free, vegan, and sugar-free.

I posted this picture on my Instagram page when I received a generous package of samples from Natural Vitality to try (ironically, I included the Natural Calm to my January Favourites Youtube post.)

Natural Vitality have expanded their line of products to include: Kids Natural Calm Multi, Organic Life Vitamins (a top selling multi-vitamin), OsteoCalm (for bone health), (my fav) Plant-sourced Minerals (concentrated naturally chelated minerals), and (also my fav) Energy 28 (a natural energy supplement with 28 organic and natural foods including maca and rhodiola).  I was particularly impressed with the last two.  Most of the products are organic, sweetened with stevia but some included small amounts of agave.

Natural Vitality is giving away 1-16oz bottle of my favourite product, Natural Calm to one lucky reader.  And, as a bonus for everyone, they are giving all my readers their Calmful Balance eGuide which includes:

It sounds bad but every night I have a glass of red wine to calm down. I should probably stop that though…

    • Julie Pecarski

Uhhh Brittany…I do it too! It’s not a bad thing in moderation, right? Good luck!! Julie

  • Angela Mitchell

I find baths, exercise, fresh air, reading, tea, and massage all help but I’ve never taken a supplement to help before.

    • Julie Pecarski

Hi Angela – I’m big on epsom salt baths and some lavender essential oil. Have you tried before? Epsom salts are also high in magnesium which helps for sleep! Julie

  • Sheelagh

If there’s something in particular that’s stressing me out I try to talk it through either on my own or with a trusted friend or family member. Or I cuddle with my cat — she always perks me up 🙂 I would love to try more of Natural Calm’s products though to see how they affect my stress levels and sleep. I can always use help in those departments!

    • Julie Pecarski

Hi Sheelagh – They say pets are the best therapy! Fingers crossed ~ Julie
